Nye County VINELink Was Retired

Nevada stopped using VINE for offender search and notification in August 2025. The Nevada Attorney General’s migration notice states that new VINE registrations ended August 28 and search and alert functions ceased the next morning. Nevada S.A.V.E., short for Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification, is now the live service. Old Nevada instructions that direct readers to VINELink or the former VINE number are out of date.

Most existing registrations migrated, but people who had registered only through the VINE mobile app needed to register again. This detail matters. An old alert relationship cannot be assumed active merely because it once worked. Open the current service, find the correct person, and request the alert through the present workflow.

Search Nye County SAVE Records

The live Nevada S.A.V.E. portal permits a full or partial name search and an offender-ID search. It describes coverage for people in custody or under supervision through collaborating Nevada agencies. That makes it useful for a specific person, but not for browsing everyone released during a time window.

1. Open Nevada S.A.V.E. and search by offender ID when known, or use the full name.
2. If needed, use the portal’s partial-name method: the first three letters of the first name, a space, and the first three letters of the last name.
3. Compare all shown identifiers. Never choose a person because the name alone looks familiar.
4. Read whether the entry concerns custody or supervision, which agency supplied it, and when it was updated.
5. Open the matching offender entry and request a notification if the option is available.
6. If no result appears, check for an offline-jail warning, call the correct Nye detention center, and use NDOC or P&P when the case belongs to those systems.
7. Confirm a reported release with the custodian’s record and the court authority.

A partial name can return more than one person. Use date of birth, offender number, booking number, or case number when those facts are lawfully known. Preserve the exact agency label and check time in personal notes. If two systems conflict, contact the source agency rather than selecting the result that seems more convenient.

Search scope matters as much as spelling. A person booked only in Nye County may never have an NDOC offender number. Someone committed to state prison may remain in NDOC history after leaving the county jail. A probation record can exist without a prison stay. Before repeating a search, identify the likely custodian from the court case, booking facility, or known sentence. This avoids treating a valid no-result response from the wrong system as evidence that the person has been released.

Nye County Alert Record Meaning

S.A.V.E. is a notification surface. It is not the booking database, NDOC sentence file, or trial-court docket. The research did not ethically test a real person merely to capture every result label, so no invented field names should fill that gap. The confirmed functions and limits are shown below.

The portal warns that a person no longer in custody may not appear. An alert registration may remain active if that person returns to custody later. Thus “not found” and “released” are not interchangeable. A disappearance could also reflect an offline agency, transfer, correction, or a scope limit.

Register Nye County Release Alerts

S.A.V.E. advertises notification without an account. Its registration screen also presents email, SMS, phone, and TTY choices. Phone-type settings include an after-hours option. Account fields include email, password, and a security question, while the registrant may remain anonymous.

1. Find and match the offender record first.
2. Choose the notification option offered on that record, with or without an account.
3. Select a channel that can be monitored and enter the requested contact details.
4. Read all on-screen confirmation steps rather than applying the old VINE PIN instructions.
5. Keep the registration current if an email address or phone number changes.
6. If registration fails, call S.A.V.E. support at 866-393-5445.

Account creation was marked temporarily unavailable on the research date, so the page must not promise that registration will always complete online. The support line is advertised as available around the clock. The portal also lists NVSave@ag.nv.gov for email support. A service interruption does not change the underlying records route: the jail, NDOC, P&P, or court still controls the official fact.

Nye County SAVE Coverage Limits

Nevada says local law-enforcement agencies and NDOC collaborate with S.A.V.E. Yet no public participant matrix proved that every Nye facility transmits live at every moment. The portal can display an “Offline Jails” warning. If Nye is shown offline, call Pahrump Detention at 775-751-7027 or Tonopah Detention at 775-482-7358, based on the actual booking location.

For a county booking, request the release transaction from NCSO and obtain the court release order or judgment. For a Nevada prison case, use the NDOC Inmate Search, then contact Family Services at 775-977-5707 if raw data needs explanation. For community supervision, contact Nevada P&P. These channels overlap, but they do not replace one another.

A court order authorizes release. The jail timestamp shows that staff carried it out. A parole grant is a Board decision; NDOC and P&P still complete release planning. S.A.V.E. can provide a fast notice, while the originating records explain what occurred.

The Nevada Sex Offender Registry is another narrow post-release source, but it is not a substitute for S.A.V.E. or a general inmate list. It covers only people who fall within registration law and displays statutory registry information. Inclusion does not establish present custody. Absence says nothing about a person outside that law’s scope. Use it only when the known case makes registry status relevant, then keep the registry result separate from the jail release record.

NDOC also operates a formal victim-notification channel apart from the general statewide portal. That route serves a different purpose and should not be merged with a public offender search. A person seeking a routine custody alert should follow the current S.A.V.E. workflow. Someone already enrolled in an NDOC victim service should use the agency’s own instructions and contact route for questions about that enrollment.

Nye County Release Versus Transfer

Nye County has unusual custody overlap. The county detention center in Pahrump has documented federal and immigration use, and Nevada Southern Detention Center is a separate contract facility. A person can leave an NCSO booking and move to ICE, the U.S. Marshals Service, NDOC, another county, or a different facility. That is release from one custodian, not necessarily release to the community.

S.A.V.E. is not a federal historical-release database. BOP results can show “Released” or a past release date for many former federal prisoners, but that says only that BOP custody ended. ICE ODLS covers current custody and some recent releases, subject to its limits. USMS has no public historical release locator.

Confirm Nye County Alert Events

Start with the named agency. For Pahrump, ask whether the person is currently held and, if not, whether the booking closed through community release or transfer. For Tonopah, call that detention desk rather than assuming the Pahrump record applies. Then request the booking face sheet and record sufficient to show release date, time, type, and receiving agency.

Older or disputed events need the court file. Nye does not offer a single direct public trial-court search for every case. Clerk staff route searches among District Court and the Pahrump, Tonopah, or Beatty Justice Courts. Justice Court may hold the preliminary stages while District Court holds the final felony judgment. Match the court to the case.

The Nye County released-inmate record guide covers this full proof chain. A notification is valuable because it is prompt. A release record and court authority are stronger because they state the transaction and its legal basis.

NCSO accepts inmate-record requests through its dedicated records portal and at NCSO-PublicRecords@nyecountynv.gov. A focused request should identify the full name, date of birth or booking number, date range, arresting agency, case number, and facility when known. Ask for the booking face sheet and the record sufficient to show release date, release time, release type, and receiving agency or destination. This phrasing seeks an existing transaction rather than asking staff to create a new report.

NRS 239.0107 requires an agency response by the end of the fifth business day after receipt. The response may provide the record, identify that another office has custody, cite confidentiality, or give the earliest expected availability. It is not an absolute five-day production guarantee. If part of a record is confidential, Nevada law calls for release of reasonably separable nonconfidential material where redaction is possible.

When the matching event belongs to NDOC, request the official follow-up from Offender Management Division rather than NCSO. Ask staff to reconcile the offender ID, book ID, release date, release description, and sentence status. That distinction keeps a state-prison event from being mislabeled as a Nye jail release.
